Dawn Devotional- 6am - Wesley Hall

Thursday, March 20, 6pm
Holy Thursday Sede - 6 am -Lamson Hall
Our spiritual ancestors made three annual pilgrimages to Jerusalem: Two occasions related to the beginning and end of harvest and one recalled the liberation of the Hebrew people from Egypt. Jesus observed a "Seder" or "order" recalling the Passover-the liberation of the Hebrew people-on his last night on earth. It was then that Jesus gave disciples a new way of understanding "liberation." This Holy Thursday observance, sponsored by the United Methodist Women, takes us to Jerusalem and to the Holy Pesah that Jesus transformed into Holy Communion. Join us for a delicious meal, rich in symbolism.

"This day shall be a day of remembrance for you...throughout your generations you shall observe it." Exodus 12:14

An Easter Prayer

Once again, lord, we are astonished by the incomparable and glorious event of Easter.

To remember how you conquered sin and evil through the resurrection of Jesus stirs up joy and hope within us.

It comforts us greatly to know that because Christ was raised from the dead, we, wh are "In Christ" have assurance of eternal life.

Furthermore, to have the living Christ as our Savior and the under girding Holy Spirit as our daily Companion assures us of grace that never fails.

Finally, it is certain that all things good and desirable are possible for those who love you, because Christ lives and reigns as king of our lives.

All praise and glory to you, loving Creator, now and forever! Amen.
